Flu shot?

I got my flu shot on Friday at 13 weeks. I prefer not to get shots because they make me super sick, but the research in favor of getting a flu shot while pregnant...well, I got one. I’d like to die right about now, because I’m pretty sick, but anything for baby, right?
How many of y’all have/will get your flu shot? If not, why?

I will always get the flu vaccination. But also, you need to get it in the fall for it to be more effective. It takes 2 weeks for your body to build up the antibodies from the shot to protect you. But it only takes 3 days of incubation to contract the flu. You have to get the shot before people are breaking out. I will always get it because after working in a hospital seeing people with the real flu is terrifying. Not just the "oh Im sick for a week" flu, but the "I am needing to be in the hospital, I could die" flu.

I got mine, and I get tested for TB every year. It’s gotten to the point where I’ve sarcastically asked why we don’t just swab every person that comes through ER triage. I’ve been exposed to meningitis at least three times during this pregnancy so far. God only knows how frequently I’m exposed to flu, and I’ve been exposed to RSV once. Which was weird because it was an adult and all I could think about was going home and giving it to my son. I get exposed to so many things through work that I feel like I need to be protected in every way possible.

I got mine, I was very hesitant but my doctor convinced me. My baby will be born right as flu season begins, and they can't get a flu shot for 6 months. They only way they can be protected from the flu before 6 months if you get a flu shot while pregnant.

I never have and will never ever get a flu shot. I’ve also never had the flu. It’s only 10% effective this year anyway.

I chose not to. I will next year when it comes out to help protect the baby from catching it from us. I read some things on the cdc website that made me decide not to get it this time, since I'm still in the first trimester. however, I also took into account that I'm a sahm, my child is not in school or daycare, and I'm a bit of a homebody.

I haven’t had a flu shot in 10 years and haven’t had the flu in that time either. I’m 15 weeks and no way I’m letting my doc give me a flu shot. My son is 17 months and has been healthy except for a small cold he will not be getting flu shots either. I don’t think they do much good in my opinion

The flu shot this year is only 10% effect for the strain of flu that is going around. I honestly say it’s not worth it. I got the shot a month before I found out I was pregnant. I ended up getting the flu anyway when I was 11 weeks pregnant. I was in bed for 7 days straight. Worst sickness. It’s honestly not worth getting the shot because you are more than likely to catch it anyway if you come across someone else who has it. And the shot is dangerous to baby.
