How much? Bright red or dark red? Do you have a photo? I’m a nurse so happy to look. It can be really serious and urgent, or could be irritation from your throat from vomiting

Sorry I meant lower in your digestive tract. But yeah may need to get checked out.

Dark red/brown generally indicates old blood or blood from lower in your intestinal tract. If it were bright, I’d think maybe it was from your throat. But yeah, may need to err on the side of safety here. You may be totally fine, but dark red blood at the end of your vomit could indicate some injury to your stomach or upper small intestine.

It’s dark red, almost brownish. Probably about 1/4 c. of it came up after vomiting out the soup I’d just eaten. It was weird that it was at the end just the blood, and not mixed with the rest of the vomit. I’ve been pretty severely sick for a few weeks now and went days without keeping anything down. My throat doesn’t hurt at all but I’ve been throwing up 3-6 times a day.

this is my second time with Hypermesis and when I'm not on meds I throw up blood due to all The acid messing with my esophagus and stomach. my first time with it I was in the army and they wouldn't give me meds so it got to the point where I had active bleeds in my stomach and had to have a tube put in through my nose to my stomach to flush the blood out. you should tell your doc and have them call in meds for you

It depends. I have Hyperemesis and vomit constantly and so I vomit up blood, could be just a tear. Was it bright red or dark red (new or old blood)?
