First prenatal appointment tomorrow....advice?

I have my first prenatal appointment tomorrow and I'm so scared. I feel like I should be so excited but I'm scared there is something wrong with the baby ( no reason to think this) or the doc will be mad about my weight I'm 268 but I have lost 20lbs since December and work with a trainer three times a week. Any advice or what should I expect? Thanks for helping my anxiety ladies!

If your doctor treats you differently based on your weight, please change doctors.

For my first appointment, I had an ultrasound, met with the nurse to discuss and update my family medical history, blood work, urine sample, and then met with the doctor for questions. I also took a glucose test since I had GD with my last pregnancy, but usually you don't do that until your third trimester, unless you're considered high risk.

don't let your doc treat you different because of your weight. but do know that some things can be different because of your weight. I was 262 with my first pregnancy and I was automatically high risk. I was tested early for gestional diabetes (but I also have a family history) and I was told to only gain between 11 and 15 pounds.

I was nervous too. They didn’t fat shame me and still haven’t. Just reminded me to watch my weight gain because of gestational diabetes risk. Baby looks healthy and everything’s fine so yours will be too. Think happy thoughts!

Don't be afraid to ask any questions! If they are a jerk about it, it is not too early to find a doctor who resepects you. Its ok to ask how yoir weight might effect your pregnancy, a goos doctor will tell you the truth while still being nice. And ask if theres anything you should change at this point with your trainer. your dr might even have recommendations on things you can work on. mine recommended yoga and stretching and squats.
