Iud - paragard. Whats your experience?

Hi im 19 and in a committed relationship. I got tired of taking hormonal bc pills so I switched to an iud. Paragard to be exact because its the only one without hormones.

I just got it put in yesterday. It was HORRIBLE! I was in excruciating pain all day long and half the night. Luckily I am sick (ironic) so I took nyquil and it knocked me right out. I actually slept through the night despite the cramps. I was actually not feeling the pain until I got up this morning. Now its starting to be unbearable again and im at work :(

Have you guys had similar experiences ?
