How to help?
Dear Ladies,
I'm asking for your help in helping someone in a similar situation.
My sister just had an ultrasound exam confirming deformities and complications - that means she's about to lose her baby.
I'd like to help her, support her, but I don't really know what I could do.
She's living a very long drive away from me, and I'm home with a very small baby, so I can't just hop over and offer a shoulder and cook dinner for her family.
We're also not very close to each other. (With her current pregnancy, two school aged kids and my baby here we've been talking about some baby stuff, but that's the first time in years we had a topic to really talk about.) I still love her and would like to do something for her, but I honestly have no idea what I can or what she would appreciate.
I feel like an idiot. I've had a lucky life of sunshine so far, have never needed to provide support to someone like this. If I could be physically there, I imagine I'd listen to her if she felt like talking, and I'd take care of household chores so she'd be free to process what's happening, to grieve and heal... But what can I do from here?
Could you please share some ideas and thoughts?
