Opinions wanted on maternity/birth classes!

So my hospital provides classes (for a fee) for expectant moms and I’m wondering if they’re worth the money to attend. For those that are having their second baby, did you take classes with your previous pregnancy? Was it worth it?

At the moment I’m not planning to spend the money to attend any classes. I’ve never experienced birth before, but from what I’ve gathered from birth stories and talking to other moms is that the birth never goes to plan anyway and the nurses/doctors guide you through it all. I guess I just don’t see the point and my thought is that it would be best to go into labor with zero expectations so that I don’t panic when things don’t go a certain way. I would love to hear opinions though!
