Doula decisions?

Hey mamas, anyone made a decision on a doula yet? Any recommendations? Tips?

I was talking to an acquaintance who is a midwife, and she highly suggests having one. I really want to do unmedicated, and I think having one could help me.

I don't think I'm hiring one, simply because 2 out of my 3 midwives got their start as a doula. That being said, if I wasn't with them, I definitely would hire a doula. I have been told that they make a huge difference!

I had scheduled 3 interviews with doulas, and obviously cancelled them... But when they heard about my MC, one of them called me and talked to me on the phone for over an hour. (She had one, too, and wanted to be supportive.) major points for such thoughtfulness, even though we had never met! Her name is Scarlett Lynskey. I plan to interview her the 2nd time around.
