How is pregnancy at 38 years old?

Hi ladies,
   I just found out I’m pregnant this week—4 weeks 3 days today. I have a 7 year old son and an almost 10 year old daughter. This will be by husbands first child. We are both so excited!! I have questions though about how his pregnancy may be different from my other 2 since I was younger with them. I hear they follow you closer when you are over 35. When was everyone’s first ultrasound? I’m anxious to be farther along....I had a chemical pregnancy in Dec. Any info about what to expect this time around would be appreciated!!

I just turned 39 and I’m 11 weeks and 5 days , I was kinda scared but the doctor ran all kind of test to make sure everything is find , I have four other kids already but there older 23,20,19,12

I am 38 y/o and 27 weeks.  This is my 9th pregnancy (I lost one baby shortly after birth).  It’s a little scary, but what’s meant to be will be.

im 40 and I'm 6+4 weeks gone. I was 30 when I had my youngest and 22 when I had my eldest but  definitly struggling more with this babs..nausea and heartburn ..sleepless nights and cramps. I only had heartburn on my youngest and was absolutely fine on my eldest. I'm just so tired and crabby. I really hope it will get easier soon.

I conceived via IVF at age 38...i dint realize how difficult that process was...my meds were max and long cycle only to produce very few eggs. it's a miracle that I got pregnant with only one embryo I'm 37 weeks along. But the journey was very hard my body did not cooperate well..had hyperemesis still going thru nausea and dehydration at times. Developed Tachycardia out of no where and my calendar was full of appointments with specialists and ER visits literally passing out at each episode Thankfully baby is fine. Had a bleed second trimester found placenta low lying had ultrasounds every two weeks since to keep an eye then amniotic fluid levels went down now on weekly ultrasounds and non stress tests...im so thankful that I made it thiski far thank God and babybgirl is doing great. great despite all of this...

I’m 38 and will be 39 in March and I’m almost 6 weeks. I have my first ultrasound on the 22nd. Nothing to compare it to really but so far I feel fine. I just have sore boobs. They are going to talk about screening and making sure baby is healthy but I don’t know when all of that is done. I dod go in for blood work and urine earlier this week and they tested for a bunch of stuff.

I am 39. But OB wanted me to do an early ultrasound between 6-7 weeks. I had a chemical a few months before and they wanted to make sure the could get a exact due date since my periods were shorter (23-24 days) than the norm. I knew my last period but they wanted to be sure. They also took blood to confirm my hcg levels at 4 weeks too. I think normally you would have one around 12 weeks if you didn’t push for an early one for dating purposes.

I was 35 when I got pregnant with my second daughter. They run most tests and I had the Panorama DNA test done, which told me the gender at only 11 weeks. It's a blood test that tests for abnormalities really early. I did have more ultrasounds and tests than my first daughter, but I also had a miscarriage before my second baby and had spotting in the beginning of the pregnancy. We're TTC our 3rd now and I'm 37.

I'm 35 and pregnant with my 3rd (28 weeks). I had my first two at 20 and 21. I can tell you that (for me anyway) it's significantly harder physically! Pregnancy in my early 20s was a breeze. I barely had any morning sickness and never really felt all that tired and exhausted. I really really enjoyed pregnancy. So much that I got pregnant with #2 just weeks after giving birth! At 35, pregnancy is definitely harder on my body all around. Still worth it though so don't take it the wrong way :)
Medically, yes, I am monitored more closely. The biggest difference is that my health insurance pays for all the testing that's optional under 35. So, panorama/DNA testing, screening for downs, and all that. My doctor likes to do frequent ultrasound checks anyway so I can't say if I got more because of my age or just because that's what he does. I had my first at 9 weeks, another at 13 and 19. Then a level II with a specialist at 23 and the last one again with my OB at 26 weeks.

I got a 12 week ultrasound instead of starting with the 20 week one. otherwise I am getting the same treatment
