I came across this topic on a discussion board somewhere else and thought I’d bring it here. It was titled “Women are genetically disposed to not be funny.” Do you agree or disagree?

Relating that to the entertainment industry...I am a huge fan of Lucille Ball-she was absolutely hilarious and her comedy was brilliant. She helped pave the way for female comedians. But that being said, I don’t find many women at all to be funny in today’s industry. Very few women catch my attention with their humor. Perhaps it’s just my personal taste in what I find funny and don’t..

Someone on the discussion board stated that only “fat women” or “ugly women” are funny... and he went on saying how Melissa McCarthy wouldn’t be funny if she was skinny-- Several people agreed with him. What do you think about this?

Now in real life, I think my female friends are hilarious-I think I’m hilarious at times as well.... even though I highly doubt anyone else would agree. It’s mostly humor that would only appeal to us on most occasions.
