I live in the country and and it’s legal to let your dogs run around (with collars.. even though these don’t have them...). I’m a junior in high school and ride the bus home every day because my parents work until 5. Recently, my neighbors got 2 viscous pit bulls that have been running around the neighborhood and barking at everyone they see. We’ve had problems in the past with these neighbors (sex offender lived at the house and terrorized me when I was little, making drugs in the house, and other things like that.) Well every day, these two giant dogs have been chasing me home every day and I have to walk/run about 3/4ths of a mile to get home. They almost got to me today but I swung my textbook at it and hit it and it backed off a little bit. We tried talking to the neighbors, animal control, and still no change. I need to know how to protect myself if these dogs to manage to reach me one day because they are literally attack dogs. My bus can’t stop anywhere else so that’s not an option. My parents have offered to get pepper spray which I might do, but I just don’t want to be attacked in the meantime. Help?
