Pacifier??

I’ve never wanted to give my kid a pacifier, but my boyfriend thinks it will be necessary. What are the pros and cons?? Is the fight later down the road even worth it? Ive always thought that if you never offer it in the first place, they won’t become reliant on it as a soother. Thoughts?
