Is it inappropriate to ask your partner their body count?

I feel like if i’m marrying that person I would want to know, but if we just got in a relationship that you might not want to ask, my sister personally thinks it’s so rude to ask a body count and I was just curious what you all think! Part of me wants to know and part of me feels like it’s not important and it’s in the past for a reason

This is a tough one kind of. Should you be able to share everything with your significant other? Yes, you should. But is it really necessary to know that much detail about their past? I don’t really think so. As long as they’re clean that’s all that matters. The past is the past, it’s their business to choose to share that information or not. If you really love them it doesn’t matter anyways.

It's not rude to ask, but it's rude to keep asking if they say they don't want to talk about it. Me and my partner both know about numbers and exs etc, it's good to know the experiences that made him who he is

My thing with asking is that women/men will ask and then get mad at the number. If you are asking out of curiosity or because you’d like to know if an std testing is needed (which is always a great idea regardless ) then yes of course. But don’t ask and then get butt hurt. I see it on here all the time !

I don't think its rude. it can be awkward but if you're comfortable to have sex with someone then you should be comfortable enough to ask about their sexual history. maybe its just me though. my s/o and I don't have secrets about our pasts.

I don't think it's rude, but it can be a bit invasive. Depending how close you and your partner are, and why you're asking will ultimately dictate if the question is appropriate.
