IUD Acne?

Question

So I’ve had issues with hormonal caused acne since I stopped birth control pills about 4/5 years ago. About a year ago I got the Mirena IUD, and my acne hasn’t gotten any better. I was hoping my hormones would have balanced out by now but I guess not?
 
Does anyone have any suggestions for this? Should I talk to a doctor about this to get my hormones regulated or is there something I can do over the counter? I’m just sick of being a 24 year old with horrible breakouts that make me look like I have bad hygienic routines, when I actually wash my face every day. I feel like it’s effecting my job and would effect future opportunities to further my career as well.
Please help, I’m desperate. I’ve been doing microdermabrasions and chemical peels every month for a year now and it helps with the scarring from previous blemishes but I’m still getting tons of new ones. :/ it’s gross.

Progesterone only birth control methods (such as the IUD) can actually cause acne. This happened to me in the first few months of having a mirena. I went to the doctor and they prescribed me medicated cream that totally cleared it up :)

👆 what she said. I have seen an increase in acne since getting an IUD that I didn't really have on the pill. I have noticed the last few months my acne has been tremendously better since I have changed my diet and what I eat. I didn't do it for that reason but the connection is definitely there!
