How often are you having ultrasounds?

I see everyone posting 8 and 12 week scans. I'm 13 weeks and haven't had one yet at all. Dr isn't planning on doing one for another 4 weeks. Is this normal? I'm diabetic so I'm automatically considered high-risk. I asked the dr about others having an 8 week scan and he said that there wasn't much point when the baby is so small. But it still seems a long time to me to wait for an ultrasound. I have heard the heartbeat twice though and that makes me feel a little better.

I'm 11 weeks and my midwives don't suggest having my first ultrasound until 20 weeks, and I'm planning on that being my only one. So I think you're in a good range.

Less ultrasounds is normal and a good thing. If you're having more, chances are there are issues (I, for example, have had 'extras' because I got pregnant the month after miscarrying, then due to a low heart beat, then as a check after a particularly bad day of my hyperemesis, and my next will be to check on a subchorionic hematoma they found on the 3rd). 
I think some ladies go to private businesses for extra scans sometimes.

I'm 13 weeks and so have had one at 8, 11, and 13. My next one will be at 16 then 20. I'm labeled high risk so I think that's why I've had so many.

I've had one at 4 weeks 3 days, one at 5 weeks 5 days, and another at 9 weeks 5 days. I'm not sure if I have one at the next appointment or not I will be 14 weeks 2 days. But if I don't have one then I will definitely have one 2-4 weeks after that. I had surgery back in November and had some of my cervix removed due to having pre cancerous cells so these ultrasounds help me keep a check in my cervix!! But with my other pregnancies I only had the one at 18 weeks unless it was an emergency one!

I had my first US at 7W5D. Went in for my 12W appointment today. Doctor was able to find baby's heartbeat with the doppler, so no US for me. The next one will be in two months for the 20W anatomy scan.

Get opinions from different doctors.. If you don't agree with your doctor you don't have to keep them!! 17 weeks is late but mine didn't schedule one until 12.5 weeks and I thought that was long

I had one at my first appointment to check the size and get a due date and heart rate (I was 9 weeks) I have one scheduled at my 12 week appointment to check on the dermoid (tumor) on my right (and only) ovary. I also have one scheduled at my 18 week appointment which is when I'm officially transferring to a different practice due to my disease I need a high risk Dr. With my first I had two then got an extra due to some spotting towards the end.

I had two before 10 weeks and wish I hadn't after I got those bills! I have to pay $140 every time I get an ultrasound until I reach my deductible!
