Advice on TTC

Amberly • 25 Married to the best, Momma to 1 & trying for #2.

In October my husband and I decided we wanted to start trying for our first baby. I took my nuvaring out and started taking prenatal vitamins. I have a six year old and have been on birth control since I gave birth to him in 2011.

First I had the IUD (almost 3 years before it came out on its own 🙀) I then went about 3 months with nothing and then got nexplanon. I had that for probably 8 months. I had bad side effects from the IUD and arm bar so I wanted something with less hormones. So I then tried the pill for a little bit and then started the nuvaring. I used that up until October 2017.

I realize my body needs some time to regulate back to normal. I have had periods each month since being off of birth control. My cycle has been sporadic though. (Days between each period) but period length is always 5 days. I have been following the glow app thoroughly and I purchased my first ovulation kit at the beginning of February. I’m now getting discouraged because I have taken a few ovulation test (clearblue advanced) and it’s been low. Even on the days glow app says I should be high or at my peak. I log in my result and it pushed my ovulation back each time.

It’s only been four months, I know it’s going to take time and I need to be patient and just let it be... however, I’m just a little concerned! Should I schedule a pre conception visit? I had my annual in August but at that point we weren’t trying so I never said anything to my gynecologist. Any thoughts and advice would be appreciated! Thanks in advance :)
