Can you still have a period and be pregnant?

So maybe it's wishful thinking, but me and my hubby have been ttc since 12/14 (went off the pill shortly before Thanksgiving) - my periods have been super heavy since stopping BC but this week it was just moderate for one day, two days before AF was due I had very light brown spotting, then I had the moderate flow for one day and now nothing?! Could I be expecting, or maybe it's just normal?
