Experience with clomid/estrogen combo

So today I visited a new OB/GYN seeking some help to get pregnant. She wants to start with clomid and estrogen. Looking for pros, cons, general advice, and success stories if anyone has any! I tried 1 cycle of Clomid several months ago and felt like a lunatic...my cycles were screwy and I felt very much pregnant when I wasn't. Kinda nervous so any help is appreciated.
