Am I unreasonable?

So it’s Mother’s Day where I’m from today. My very first. My husband gave me breakfast in bed which was great. He also gave me flowers, but they were the cheapest ones from the grocery store. We also went out for a stroll where I ended up buying him lunch... and now we’re just watching tv. Am I right to be a bit disappointed or am I unreasonable??

Just remember it’s the thought that counts. He gave you breakfast in bed and that is as sweet as it gets! Means he was thinking about you and wanted to start your day off right. It’s the little things. 🙂 cheap flowers or not, it’s romantic 💙🙃

I wouldn’t get too hurt by it but I would tell your man what you would want. Truthfully, you got way more than I ever did during any of my Mother’s Day gifts but I’m not so into that anyway. I’d rather save the money or buy myself a gift certificate for a massage. This year, I’m telling my man
That’s what I want because otherwise, he’ll just forget. It doesn’t bother me though. Just buy yourself what you want or tell your man what you want. If it does hurt your feelings, just talk to him about it. I’m sure he’ll understand

Mother's Day started as a political movement to recognize the work that mother's/women do as valid and worthy of compensation in order to prevent her and her children from abject poverty. 
I say that to say don't let the commercialism it's become and the fact that he didn't commercialize it perfectly upset you. Is he a supportive partner everyday? Do you feel appreciated every day? 
Imagine if he was sucky everyday but only turned that around on the days society says he "should".

No honestly I’d be annoyed- because I know on his first Father’s Day I would want to make every effort to make it a special day. However, some men you literally have to tell them what you want. So, maybe you could say as it’s my first Mother’s Day id like to make it memorable, as we haven’t done something today can we do something another day to mark the occasion?
