Yeast infection with Paraguard

I’ve had the Paraguard in me for 10 years now. Recently for like the last 5 months I’ve been getting a yeast infection every month before my period. My doctor thinks it’s the Paraguard but I don’t understand why after all these years I’m starting to get this now. My IUD doesn’t need to be taken out until 2021.

It’s very annoying and uncomfortable to get every month. Before this I never got yeast infections. P.s I have been with the same partner for 17 years and even he’s wondering what’s going on. Has anyone ever had this problem or heard of this before?
