Toughest girl I know so proud of her!

My heart warrior of a daughter was born November 16, 2017 with a major heart defect called hypoplastic left heart syndrome or HLHS (she is missing the left ventricle of her heart and only has 3 chambers instead of 4) She was diagnosed at she was diagnosed at 21 weeks on July 21, 2017. After going through IVF to get pregnant I was devastated and unsure if my baby would survive. The rest of my pregnancy was filled with multiple appointments and very close monitoring, but we tried to prepare for her arrival as much as we could. As soon as she was born she was held up for me to see and then taken into the room next to me to have IVs and central lines put in to keep the hole between the two upper chambers open so she would survive. I spent all of 30 mins with her skin to skin on me while they stitched me up and prepared her for transport to a different hospital for children. My daughter underwent open heart surgery at just 1 week old. Her journey has been nothing but easy from a 4 week hospital stay. We finally were discharged home before Christmas and have been home since. However my baby will still need 2 more surgeries one of which we are getting ready for and will be sometime in April. The third and hopefully final one will be between 18 months and 4 years old. This is the toughest baby and person I have ever met and I can’t believe she’s all mine. Her chest may be scared and will never look the same but she has such a remarkable story. I just had to show her off and tell her story.
