Cannot breastfeed

hi,

my baby was sick and stayed in neonatal icu for 3 weeks. i could not breastfeed there and when i tried using the breastpump, it was useful and very painful. my boobs were still painful 3 days after trying all means of extracting milk. my baby breastfed only once and she refused to be breastfed. after 7 weeks, she still refuses. anyone has been through that? since i do not have the choice, she drinks formula milk but i would have loved to breastfeed her :(

She’s my first baby and the trauma we’ve been through following my delivery made me feel more helpless when she refused to be breastfeed.

I would love to have some advice from moms who have been through that or knows about it.
