Is dental work safe?

Is it safe to go to the Dentist when you are newly pregnant? I have some work to be done, but, I do not want to risk the fetus' health....

I’ve heard it’s safest during 2nd trimester but if you let them know you’re pregnant when booking they’ll advise you as to what procedures they feel comfortable doing during certain stages of pregnancy. Some dental offices here require a doctors note stating the dr agrees with having dental work done despite pregnancy but that’s just the office being cautious I’d assume.

Just tell them you’re pregnant, if it’s a normal cleaning it will be fine but for other procedures if you give them a heads up they know what will be safe to do at this point of your pregnancy
