I need ADVICE!!!

My husband and I and our baby are currently at my parents house. we've been living here for 5 months. My mother went to a mental institute last Thursday and I'm not sure when she'll be back . she's been depressed and that's why she went. (I'm not sure on details, if there was a suicide attempt or what) so me and my SO have decided we are going to move out and pay rent with his cousin. I don't know how I'm going to tell my dad . And I'm worried about my mom for when she comes back and we aren't here. I'm 20, and my parents still mean a lot to me. I have a bad habit of saying things the wrong way. I get nervous and spill everything out at once which makes it overwhelming to the 'reciever'. how should I do it? I'm thinking about sending a text message to my dad saying we'll be moving out and explain why it's good for us and for them. My husband feels like it shouldn't be this hard for me to do, but it's really hitting deep
