I one picked out but his mom ended up passing her engagement ring down to him. So I got her ring.

a harry potter ring went around Facebook and I told him how much I liked it. it was crazy money, and sold out (he told me later) 
but he went to a local jeweler and they helped make one.i was happily surprised when I stumbled across it in his sock drawer. 😂

my husband made me mad because he asked which one I liked I told him and he said oh they don't have that one anymore. I got so upset and then he said because I have it and proposed. it was very sweet.

I think it is important that you have a say. After all, you will be will be the one wearing the ring! It was still super special to me and a complete surprise even tho I had sent him I wish someone had taken a pic. I’d say give him options, look at cuts and see what you like, and show him rings you like.

We picked it together. It was a random date we went on and he ended up buying it that day because he was for sure then asked my mom a few weeks later and showed her the ring. I thought it was a fun date but he was super serious
