Backstory:

I had a miscarriage 10 years ago with my ex-husband ... and I’ve been trying ever since.

My second husband and i have been trying for almost 6 years with no luck.

We did 5 rounds of clomid 2 years ago with no luck. I said if i wasn’t pregnant by 30 we would look into IUI.

Back a few months we had a consult with a Fertility specialist. She did an ultrasound and 2 blood tests.

Good news is i ovulated in my own and my estrogen and progesterone levels looks good so IUI w/o injections looks like a good option.

I’m hoping/praying we get lucky and will only need 1-2 cycles to get pregnant. It’s not as expensive as we thought but it is still a big chunk to come up with up front.

We can’t wait to finally start our family, and pray our time is finally coming.

Update to our story:

I turned 30 this weekend and today I was finally able to get ahold of someone (been waiting on a call back about my insurance for about 2 weeks). The lady who called me last time didn’t document anything about my insurance at all. Thank goodness the lady I spoke to today was able to look up my insurance right on the phone with me.

I’m blessed to actually have some coverage for Fertility Treatments!

That lifted a huge weight off our shoulders, it was going to be difficult to finance out of pocket multiple IUI rounds.

I also got extremely lucky and my Dr has an opening this Thursday for a follow up. We’re going to get the ball rolling on round 1.

We’re going to do natural IUI (no major meds) and see how it goes, as I seem to ovulate just fine on my own.

I’m so excited I want to be a mom so bad. It’s been such a long journey but I really feel like the end of the tunnel is close.

I’m praying for my rainbow with our first round but i also know it could take a little bit of time.

I’m just excited and blessed to be able to seek the assistance we need. For years i wasn’t sure we’d ever be able to afford treatments.

*****UPDATE*****

Went to my appt this past Thursday and we are moving full steam ahead!

I’m due to start my period this week and as soon as i do i call the doctors office and we start the process of our first IUI cycle! Thankfully I have a flexible job and can make my schedule however o need to fit in appts. As long as i hit 40hrs they’re pretty understanding when I’m not working a desk shift.

Praying we get lucky quick. My younger sister is like 9wks, I’d love for us to have babies close in age and be able to share this experience together.
