HELP???I don’t know...

So I like this guy...we have known each other for over 4 years now and I’d say we are close. He always acted like how I envisioned my bf to be. He and I make each other laugh all the time, we text almost every day, BUT he said he is asking “someone” to be his Valentine but I know deep down it isn’t me. I have come to ask for advice. Should I just be friends with him, drop him, or ask him out.(Im a very shy person btw so thats a big step) I Can’t tell if I have been friendzoned or if he is just scared...HELP? )He is the one on the far left-the other guys are his friends)
