Pregnancy- How soon will/did you tell people?

Question

So I'm about 4 weeks 3 days pregnant. We told each other we wouldn't tell people til the second trimester because last year we told people right away and then I miscarried at 7 weeks. It was really tough. I kinda hibernated  after that for like a month so no one would say anything to me about it.
I have a good feeling about this little one and it's so hard for me to keep a secret! lol Just tonight I went out to eat and kept getting hounded and questioned as to why I wasn't having a drink!! I said I had a headache. On top of that, I also have a batchelorette party in a couple of weeks and a beer festival! How do I get out of that?? Not sure what to do... May just play it by year.  I have a obgyn appt Monday so I guess we'll see how that goes.
What is everyone else's plan with sharing the news??

I told people right away even after miscarrying back in November. My reason is to celebrate while it lasts whether it's a few weeks or full term. At the bachelorette, you could always take the bartender aside and tell them no matter what you order to always give you something nonalcoholic. I saw that on a tv show once. 😊

I had a similiar situation. Bachelorette in Nashville a day after I got my BFP! I ended up having to tell the girls because it was becoming very obvious and stressful to pretend to drink and be drunk.. it was a small group of 4. We are going to share the news with close friends and family after the heartbeat is (hopefully) heard. Then publically after 12 weeks. I look at it like if we do lose the baby, I would want a support system of close friends and family,, but not the "sympathy" of the Facebook world.. I had a m/c in February and didn't tell my parents yet and wished we had. It was hard to go through it without them. But also don't want them to get excited and then something bad happens. So think the heartbeat is a happy medium :) But everyone is different!.

James and i are waiting until AT LEAST the first ultrasound. Even then we will probably just tell our families. A couple of my girls know but that's it. We've agreed to not tell my work until the second trimester.
