Miscarriage???

I just had my first ultrasound at eight weeks, The nurse said it looks like it's measuring at six weeks pregnant. Then she said if I am sure about my last menstrual period. That it could be a miscarriage. Has this happened to anybody? That the nurse could've been wrong somehow?

I'm so sorry to hear you're going through this. Something similar happened to me.

If the first day of my last period was accurate, I should have been 13 weeks, but at my ultrasound it only measured at 6 weeks. I saw my doctor. He ran me through the possibility that it wasn't a viable pregnancy (ie. miscarriage) and recommended that I go back for another dating scan in two weeks.

Those two weeks were awful. I was completely beside myself with worry, and couldn't help but think the worst.

But my second scan was on Tuesday and we saw a heartbeat! ♡ ♡ ♡ It measured at 8 weeks exactly. Looks like my cycle was just being unreliable and the pregnancy wasn't as far along as we first thought it was.

Has your doctor suggested going back for another ultrasound in a couple of weeks time? Stay positive. I really hope everything works out ok. x

Could possibly be unfortunately... I had 2 last year that were only measuring 6 1/2 weeks at my 8 week appointment. The choice is ultimately what your heart tells you but I started to lose pregnancy symptoms so I knew there was no hope.
