Period or implantation spotting.,.,.,

So my significant other and i had sex today and had to stop because i started bleeding.,.,., so i pluged it.,.,.,., had the tampon in for about 8 hours but when i went to change it there was only 1 or 2 small brownish colored spots.,.,.,.,.,., could my period have stopped and will start again or is it possible that it was just implantation bleeding?.,.,., im not sure and dont want to freak out but its really bugging me not knowing
