Is it important to teach your children how to lose?

Yes- as a primary school teacher I see more and more children unable to cope with failure. The fear of failure alone can stop them from trying to their full extent, they just give up before they fail, like that’s a better option for them.
It’s concerning.
A good parent and teacher will teach their children and students that failure is how we learn and that it’s apart of life for every human. 
I say let them loose a game, let them try and do something for themselves before stepping in and doing it for them, teach them problem solving skills for when they do fail the first time. 
Teach them that resilience and persistence!

Yes. We will teach our daughter that it’s ok to lose sometimes. We can’t always win. And that it’s also good to be happy for the winner when we lose.

YES! You dont always win in life and its important to teach that to kids! I will not be signing my children up for teams that give out participation trophies.

Yes. My 4 year old at one stage was such a sore loser and would have tantrums over it. From then on I always told him it doesn’t matter if you lose - just try to be better next time. Now he is much better about it. 🙂
