A little background history: my boyfriend and I are juniors and we have been dating for over 2 years. We both agreed on going on a date instead of prom within the past year. We go to different schools and his doesn't let other people in their prom--I don't like mine.

Last night my boyfriend asked me if I would be okay letting him go to his prom with another girl as friends. I don't know this girl or even heard of her before and I thought we were supposed to be going on a special date instead of prom. I told him no and he got upset. I don't feel comfortable and I'm really mad that he would even ask to change our plans for something last minute. He isn't in the financial situation anyways to pay from prom AND a date. Am I overreacting or are my feelings valid?
