Birth Control Options?

My SO and I have been TTC for more than two years. But now that our relationship is kinda rocky im considering birth control. Im not going to bring a child into this world if my relationship with him is in this condition. We really want a baby but to be honest every month is just a disappointment. And i believe its one of the reasons why our relationship is falling apart. We haven't spoken in about two days. And when he gets home im going to let him know how i feel. And what im going to do as far as protecting myself. Not sure how he is going to handle it. Its been 9 years since i used birth control, is there any recommendations as to which one is best?
