When should I stop my birth control?

I'm 27 and getting married in August. My fiancé and I are planning on having a baby shortly after we get married. I asked my OB/GYN when I should stop my birth control and she said to wait until after the honeymoon just in case of bleeding. If I stop taking the pill in July, will that give my body enough time to get regular on its own before we start trying so we can get pregnant quicker? Anybody have any experience with this?
