Pregnancy after depo shot??

I am 37 and my fiance is 30, and we have been together for 3 years. We want a child together but I am ready now and he wants to wait but I do not have time to wait like him. So I got off my depo shot in October because I have heard it can take time to get pregnant, like a year or more. I just had a normal period cycle for the first time. He is aware that I am no longer on BC, and we are using the pull out method right now. I just wanted to have some input on my situation. How long have others taken to get pregnant after depo? I know my chances are lower cause he is pulling out but I'm hoping that this method will fail one day.
