Am I being insensitive or is he overreacting?

Basically, long story short a friend came round and he kissed me i kissed back for a second because I was caught up in the moment told my boyfriend and he can't see passed this. It meant nothing and I no longer see/talk to him. I thought we could get passed this or am I being insensitive?? Advice please girls !?
