Is wearing a wig fake or a bad thing?

Question

I have a wig collection. I have African American hair. I am black and white, but I was raised by the Caucasian side of my family. They taught me to do my hair like a white person would, but that has never worked for my hair. It frizzes into an afro, so I keep it short because I don't want to spend the time trying to tame this frizzball, so I wear wigs. I have heard a lot of people talk bad about wigs though, so I want your opinions on the subject.

U may still want to Learn how to style your “African American hair” 😒  
Your kids could be born with the same “African American” hair and you want to teach them to love and embrace every facet of themselves.  Sucks you had no one to help u in that department.

i grew up with a white mom and black dad so no one knew how to properly take care of my hair. my hair was dead and fried from bad care and straightening. all my hair fell out due to my plaque psoriasis and i saw it as a new start. i did a lot of self educating, and research on my hair type and the necessary care. i found a ton of pages online that told me how to wash it, care for it style it. everything my hair has been so healthy and beautiful since then. there's all kinds of information on the internet to help but it will take time to reverse the way it is. its going to take patience and time but it'll get to where you want it to be. don't give up on it.

It’s absolutely not a bad thing. A lot of people wear wigs. I think they get a negative image when the wigs don’t look natural. You definitely need to learn how to do your hair tho. YouTube will help a lot on learning how to take care of your natural hair and wigs.

I have black hair and I don’t wear it either. I wear sew ins because it’s easier and faster to work with 🤷🏽‍♀️

A wig is a good option plus it’s super easy.
But I do recommend learning how to take care of your natural hair. YouTube will help a lot. When you figure out your hair type and porosity taking care of your hair will be easier.
But YouTube will be a great resource for the wig you wear and your natural hair. Once you find someone with similar hair type you can use the tips they know work.
