When to go to the dr?

Question

Have any of you lady's not gone to the doctor until you were 5 months pregnant or more? 
I have a friend who's done it with both her children and her mid wife actually suggested it the first time...
 
How do you feel about it? Would you do it? What are the consequences?  I'm considering it

I would do it next time- this whole once a month thing so they can be like "how you doin" and I'm like "good." Is so annoying.  I know they're looking at me physically for indicators that things could be going wrong, but seriously, it's a bit unnecessary.

I went as soon as I found out and thank god I did because we found out my progesterone levels were dangerously low. If I wouldn't of gone in then I probably would have miscarried. I would rather go just to be safe than sorry.

I wouldn't wait. They do blood work to make sure everything is going ok. I went 4 days after a positive home pregnancy test and found out my progesterone was too low and I'm anemic so it's a good thing I went as I most likely would have miscarried without the progesterone.

I like seeing the baby and getting reassuring notes from the doctor that my baby is still doing well.

I didn't go in until much later with my daughter. Not because I chose to but because I didn't know I was pregnant. She is now 11 and one of the smartest in her class.

I honestly didn't go to the dr until I was about 3 months pregnant, I didn't get my dating scan until I was 14 weeks along, I feel bad having left it so long but in all honesty there was nothing even wrong with it, bubba is fine and healthy. . :)

I wouldn't wait. I think that sounds pretty ridiculous. You aren't only going to the doctor because of the baby's health but also yours. There are different tests they like to run at different times, recommendations for prenatals and ultrasounds to make sure the baby is growing normally. If I would have waited till I was five months along I would have been devastated. I was labeled high risk at my first doctors appointment. I am currently five months with twins. One of my twins is not going to survive if she makes it til when I deliver. The doctors are shocked I haven't miscarried with her. My other twin is developing at a slower rate than she should. I had an amniocentesis done and now I have to go every two weeks for ultrasounds. If I would have waited to go til now I probably would have blamed myself for everything that's going on even though it's not my fault. Especially being a first time mom and having so many questions it's nice to have my doctor around.

I take meds for thyroid and those needed to be adjusted as soon as I found out. At 13 weeks I found out I had gd and so the sooner I adjusted my diet the better. For the most part, the checkups are quick in and out type meetings and I'm thankful for that. Six weeks to go.

I was going on 4,months before I had my first appointment, I had made an appointment before that but it had to be rescheduled BC of weather. I see no big deal in waiting a little bit but I would not wait too long BC there are certain test that have to be done at a certain time.
