BF hasn’t said I love you yet?

Question

Sometimes I feel like I could be settling because I haven’t met his family or friends yet (although he doesn’t have many friends) 
In the beginning he said something “I let People reveal themselves to me first” and that made me realize maybe I haven’t brought up meeting his family? I know I’ve mentioned about meeting his friends but that still hasn’t happened. 
We’ve been together for almost 10 months now.

I find it odd that you haven’t met his friends, but I personally took a long time to introduce my boyfriend to my family. In my family you don’t bring home just anyone, when you bring someone home it’s a serious relationship and to me that means I’ve been with someone at least a year. I met my boyfriend’s family around that time and he met mine 18 months in (my family also lives across the world so it’s harder for us to get together). For him his family has huge issues and he wanted to make sure that we were strong enough as a couple before he brought me into that mess. family can be complicated.  
My boyfriend took over a year to say he loved me too. And it was the same for me when I said it. I take that word very seriously and I need to make sure it’s real before I use it. Lots of people take a long time to say I love you and that’s ok. As long as the relationship is progressing and you’re moving it that direction then I don’t think it’s something you should rush. 
But not meeting his friends is weird. Because generally you hang out with friends and bring your SO a long. If I hadn’t met my boyfriend’s friends by 10 months then I’d be concerned he was trying to hide me from people. But I understand wanting to wait to meet family because for some people it’s a big deal.

Eek! 10 months and you haven't met any family?? Does the family live out of state I hope? As for friends, maybe he's embarrassed of them? lol sounds silly but I haven't met some of my fiance's friends cause they're weird goofballs he's said and we've been together going on 4 years and we're engaged. Tell him family is important and you'd love to meet them.

Seems like "I love you" would happen before boyfriend status would happen. if your not in love than your just friends

I think you need to have a chat about what the future looks like for both of you so you aren’t wasting time

I met my boyfriends parents within the first week of talking to him. We've been together for a year and almost 3 months. We're having a baby too. I would personally find it weird if I haven't met his family by 10 months. He doesn't really have a family he sees. So it's not one of those families that always has get togethers and stuff. He'll go a while without seeing them. But yeah.. I would ask your boyfriend why he hasn't brought you around. There could be a reason. You never know.

Love is a strong & meaningful word. If you haven’t met his family yet, I don’t think it’s the right time for him to use it yet. You don’t truly meet someone until you’ve met their family cause that’s the people he grew up with, interacts with, that raised him & influenced who he is today.
