Pacifier for breastfed baby?!?

What do you think? When is nipple confusion a concern? Is it a concern at all? Has your baby ever had an issue latching after using a paci?

Mine started using a pacifier at 5 days because she was using my breast as a pacifier, and the pediatrician recommended it.  She's now 13 days old and has no problems latching or nursing. I was worried I wouldn't be able to tell when she was hungry, but she'll get angry if she's hungry and nothing is coming out.

My daughter had pacifiers from day one, in hospital and breastfed and had no issues whatsoever between the two.

My son is 5 months EBF and he used a pacifier as a newborn and has never had problems latching

i put my daughter on a dummy at 6 weeks and my son on one in the hospital both of my babies have been both dummy babies and ebf my daughter was 2 years and my son 8 weeks so far

My son got a pacifier the night he was born, maybe six hours after delivery. He’s also had a perfect latch since delivery and has nursed and drank from a bottle  We’ve tried three kinds of pacis and he’s only taken to two. No nipple confusion for my boy 💙

After you established teaching how to nurse and when your milk has come in and regulated, a paci isn’t bad. That’s usually around 2 months.

My daughter wouldn’t take the pacifier until she was about 4 months old. In my case, nipple confusion wasn’t real, she knew exactly which was which, 1 you get food, 1 you don’t

I actually hadn't heard of nipple confusion with pacifiers. maybe something to do with it just being for suckling and they don't actually get anything out of them. :)
