Cold with horrendous cough 19w5d
I have been sick for 6 days now, this cough is just getting worse and more horrendous. I went to the doctor twice now, lungs are clear, not flu or pneumonia just viral cold. I’ve been coughing so hard and deep that i pee my pants or gag every time I cough, it is seriously killing my lungs, and now it’s starting to hurt my stomach and I’m worried about the baby possibly being in distress from how hard I’m coughing since it hurts me deep down into my diaphragm and stomach when I cough. (Side note: I also have asthma and use an inhaler as needed, but hasn’t been helping with my horrendous cough) the cough has been interfering with my sleep, I’m so tired all the time and my whole body aches. The doctor told me I’m doing the most I can until it runs its course but I need some serious sleep in order to heal 😭 I’m a second time mom but I never got sick with my first pregnancy and put that one up for adoption, so this is all new to me. Im taking mucinex dm, using Vick’s vapopads in the air, using Vick’s tissues for my nose, taking Tylenol for fever (when I have one) and headache from all my coughing, been wearing maxi overnight pads to keep myself dry when I cough and pee myself, sniffing Vick’s chest rub to try to clear myself up quicker, and drinking like 5-6 16.9 oz bottles of water a day (with a bottle of Gatorade to replenish electrolytes, and a cup of soda for caffeine so I don’t start getting a migraine). I’m peeing easily 2 times an hour going to the bathroom yet alone the little bit of wetting myself. Any ideas for sleep remedy’s? Or for how to naturally relax my cough so it’s not as painful each time I do? (Like herbal remedy’s and such, dr didn’t offer me any help in that respect) I feel like hell froze over, like I got hit by an entire fleet of semi trucks with the chains on their tires, into the ice.
