First ultrasound??

Question

So do dr usually do an ultrasound at your first appointment? I will be exactly 8 weeks when I go to my apt on Monday, I want an ultrasound but didn't know if they do it. Also, any specific questions I should ask the dr!? I know it's preference but just wanted to ask moms! Thanks!

Not every doc does one at the first appointment if there haven't been fertility issues or problems in the past. My doc just does a pap, blood work, and medical history in the first appointment.

I got one...but no picture...they were just making sure baby was in there n there was a heart beat

Yes they do. Along with pap smear and labs. Write your questions down...no offense but none of us ladies know what you want to know about. Everyone's body and pregnancy is different, so the questions will be different. Give it some thought about what you want to know and write them down so you will remember them at appt.

I got my first one at 6 weeks. It depends on the doctor and what equipment they have. Usually before 11 weeks the baby is so little they use a transvaginal ultrasound. So if your doc does give you one, it will probably be transvaginal.

Usually around 12 weeks for that but u will have weight height blood pressure and chat about life history bloods etc done at your appointment x
