Pediatrician?

When do you plan to find a pediatrician? How do you go about doing so? Do people still visit the office/ doctor before making a decision?

Call around and go and check out their office and the doctor and see if you like them. I love ours and will be using the same one. If you don’t have one, the hospital will assign you one. I wanted to make sure I liked them first though. We go to a small practice so I feel like we get more one on one attention.

I originally thought it was ridiculous to have interviews..it seemed like such overkill. BUT after interviewing 3 pediatricians in the past couple weeks...i HIGHLY recommend It! We did not like the first two AT ALL...but the 3rd was great! so glad we actually went and checked them out beforehand

I called and told them I was due in April and asked if they took my insurance and the receptionist asked if I’d like to schedule a conference to meet the doctor and ask questions and everything so I did. She was recommended but my husband still wanted to check it out.

Talk to your like-minded friends! We did not interview, but chose the pediatrician that a few of our friends use. We could not be happier.

Ours was recommended by the OB, and our hospital. It is a large practice, so sometimes we see a different doctor for urgent care. This is actually how I found that I like the PA better than either of the kids doctors! I usually just ask for her when I make an appointment.

My pediatrician is also my family doctor I just asked him to be the same for the next generation.
