Boyfriend’s mom wants to watch our 6week old baby girl
So..... my boyfriends mom is significantly older than my parents about ten years. This puts her in her 60s I believe because my mom is 51. His mom can’t go anywhere without a pillow to sit on because she can’t get up on her own without help. She has severe swelling in her legs, can’t walk up four stairs without both hands on the rail for assistance, and usually needs help walking in the lawn to her car because of being unsteady. She is in complete denial that she is not capable of taking care of a newborn and keeps pushing to watch her and wants to take her on walks. This gives me the worst anxiety when she tries to do this. My boyfriend and I are trying to decide the best route to go about telling her she can’t watch her without hurting her feelings. We are at a stand still with what to do. She just texted me today saying she got a pack and play, toys, and a mat for the ground for her. (She’s not even capable of picking the baby up off the ground..) Please help me out fellow mamas! How do we tell her we don’t feel comfortable with her watching the baby while being delicate with emotions?
