IUD removal and bleeding question

Hey ladies, I have a question! I had my IUD taken out about 2 weeks ago and immediately started a period that lasted about a week and was SUPER heavy for me. I figured this was normal, as before I had an IUD my periods were quite heavy. Well hubs and i had sex for the first time since having my IUD out 2 nights ago, and I had some spotting right after. I didn't think too much of it, being very light. It hasn't stopped and I am still bleeding. It's much much lighter than a period and is more like heavy spotting but it's darkening from pink to red. Is this just my body trying to regulate after IUD removal? Anybody experience this? Any thoughts welcome
