What are pro's and con's of doing a gender reveal? Me and my fiance are having a discussion about doing a gender reveal. he doesn't want to bc he thinks it's a moment that should just be between me and him. I think it will be cool to share that moment with everyone. I need opinions please!

You can give the sex to someone at Party City or a bakery and they’ll do something small for the two of you so you can experience it together. Then do a big gender reveal with family later.

Hubs and I did a small one on thanksgiving with our families since we were hosting. Hubs and I found out the day before together. I didn’t want to find out in front of a lot of people bc I feel that is such an intimate and special moment. I’m happy hubs and I found out together. We enjoyed it, embraced each other. And soaked it all in.
On thanksgiving during dinner, we told everyone that we knew what we were having and we’d be revealing during dessert. Everyone was soooo excited! I made cupcakes and had everyone take a bite at the same time. It was still so overwhelming bc our families were thrilled beyond belief.

The con I feel is that the sex isn't really that big a deal. it tells you nothing about the personality and encourages people to go nuts with the pink and the bows and frills or the blue and the trucks and spacemen. We specifically didn't tell some people because we knew they'd make a big deal out of gender stereotyping, and having a party that makes a big deal out of a penis or a vagina sends the message that it's really important to the parents imo. there are plenty of other ways to celebrate a baby coming.

Compromise with him then. Both of you find out at the scan, then do a reveal to announce to everyone else. My husband and I didn't do a reveal with baby #1, but did with #2. Turned out so cute, my mom and sister did everything for us (we didn't find out til we cut the cake), so glad we did. First one either of our families have really done.

For my gender reveal me and my baby’s dad are finding out prior to the party, then we will have a party with our family and my little sister will cut the cake and the gender will be revealed to our whole family!

We did a small one with just us, siblings and grandparents. It was like 10 people total. Then we announced on social media for everyone else.
