In the past year, I’ve broken up with my high school sweetheart. We dated for 4 years and we broke up on awful terms. But that’s not what I want to talk about. My mom hated my ex, my dad LOVED him. And since October of 2017, I’ve been seeing a man who’s 14 years my elder. I’m 18, he’s 32. I’m indubitably happy. The sex blows my mind, he treats me so well, I’m spoiled like a princess, and he will not stop until I’m smiling or at least faking it well enough.

Aside from the age gap, my parents would hate this man right off the bat because, due to unfortunate circumstances life has given him in the past couple of years, he doesn’t have his own place, he doesn’t have a car(yet), he plays excessive video games(I’m not complaining), and he’s had a couple songs on his record from being young and dumb.

I’m TERRIFIED to tell my parents. It’s not just the age gap. My partner has 3 kids. Older twins and a sweet 5 year old I just had the courage to meet yesterday. His kids are beautiful. And he is an amazing dad. I just don’t know when the right time to tell my parents would be. Im still under my parents roof for the next month so I’ve done quite a bit of sneaking around over the past 5 months, but when I leave it won’t be as much of an issue. I don’t think?
