Evening Primrose Oil?

Question

Did anyone take this to ripen the cervix!? I have never heard about this (with my first) and was just reading up on it. Super interested to see if it actually works or if there are any dangers? I am completely against castor oil so I wouldn’t want anything similar!

I used it internally with all 4 of my pregnancies. I have babies ranging from 8lbs to 9.8 lbs and never tore. I fell that the oils helped.

Following! I’m 38w2d and just started inserting 4 at night vaginally. I was not effaced or dilated or ANYTHING at my appt last week. So I’m praying it helps me thin out!😭

I used primrose oil during my first pregnant and it didn't really help. My water broke but wasn't dilated. They had to give me pictocin to kick start my contractions. My midwife I'm using for this pregnancy told me that is a common scenario for using primrose oil and it's not worth it.

I already had my baby on feb 10th and I took evening primrose oil (orally and vaginally) for 4 weeks every night leading up to my delivery and it didn’t help me at all. I was told that it ‘could’ increase bleeding/slow clotting and I bled a TON while I labored. Not 100% sure if that was related but I did want to mention that just in case.
