How did your labor start?!

I want to hear your birth stories! How did labor start for you? How far along were you? How was your unmedicated experience? How was your medicated experience? Thanks for sharing! Xxx

33 weeks 5 days, I woke up at 1:30 am with back pain. I took a warm bath to try to loosen the muscles figuring that would help, but after the bath it just kept getting worse. By 3:00 am I was pacing in the living room short of breath and having a lot of tightness in my belly. I woke my husband up at 3:30 and promptly got yelled at for not waking him up sooner 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ Then started the one hour drive to the hospital where the contractions really kicked in and were getting worse and worse every 10 minutes or so. Finally get to the hospital and I was only 1 cm but 100% effaced with my twins, so the pressure was incredible. 12 hours of contractions at the hospital later they gave me Benadryl so I’d sleep, so I took about an hour nap and woke up to baby B’s water breaking and baby A dropping way low. I was still just 1 cm and they quickly sent me off for c section at this point. The spinal block didn’t hurt at all and both my baby girls were out within 15 seconds of one another. They’re still in the NICU to gain weight and learn to eat on their own, but they’re making huge progress everyday on taking their food by mouth. Hoping to have them home next week. They were 110% worth all the pain of contractions and the c section. 👶🏻👶🏻💕

I was 40w with all my kids. 1st medicated, which stalled labor ended In Csection. 2nd natural, unmedicated. Best, fastest labor I’ve had. 3rd- medicated due to bladder infection, which made my contractions terrible. Another long, stalled labor. Hoping this next one is the fastest 😄

Baby 1 has to be induced at 39 +6 started with cervidil and it was horrid! Was sick all night. They gave me phenergin (sp) and Stadal (sp) for the pain and nausea. Started Pitocin around 8 the next morning. I got an epidural around noon and delivered at 2:15 in the afternoon. My dr was shocked! He said he had never had a FTM deliver that fast when starting from 0 progress. (I had no effacement and no dilation when we started the pitocin). The epidural actually sped things up for me, which again is really odd! 
Baby 2 woke up at 5 am feeling very uncomfortable. I was 37+3. Tried to go back to sleep and couldn’t. Finally went to the hospital around 11 and was at 5 cm. Dr broke my water and I got an epidural mid afternoon and my 2nd was born at 5:18 that afternoon.
I’m currently 37+5 and can’t wait to hold my baby boy! Hoping labor goes the same way this time and don’t want to wait until 40 weeks😂

So for my first I never went into labor! I waited thinking it would happen every day and eventually I passed 40w. My doctor went out of town on vacation and scheduled an Appointment at the hospital for an NST at 40w4d and a induction date at 41w... I never left the hospital because I was diagnosed with preeclampsia and was induced! They admitted me around 2pm on Friday November 18th and gave me cervadil to open my cervix... that didn’t do much so around 9am on Saturday the 19th they gave me pitocin which gave me a lot of painful contractions but I toughed it out hoping to have my son by the end of the day oh and the dr popped my water bag but NOPE they ended up giving me some pills to take the edge off! Finally on Sunday the 20th some time in the morning they said I was finally at 5 cm and fully effaced. I was so tired after all this time I eventually caved in and got an epidural because I felt like I wasn’t going to be able to get him out. A couple more hours passed and my sons heart rate began to drop lots of nurses and the doctors rushed in flipping me back and forth n eventually they started to prep me for a c section but when they put the thing on the top of his head, his heart rate became stable again and they pretty much said if it happens again I’m going to need an emergency c section. 30 minutes later I’m paging the nurse telling her I need to push and she’s like that’s not possible no asked her to check and low n behold I was 9.5 cm! I had my son at 7:23pm after 20 minutes of pushing the dr almost didn’t make it and although I was as exhausted as I’ve ever been in life it was all worth it and I’d do it again now!!!

Here’s my long story: With my first I was 39 w 5 d and we had just gone to bed. I had been having contractions off and on for weeks prior and was already dilated to a 3 cm 70% effaced (before this night). Around 11pm I was feeling crampy and got up to go pee. I went pee, finished, and went to wipe when I heard a pop (like the popping sound that you feel when you crack your back-but it was in my tummy). After the pop I felt a trickle/stream of fluid come out. I wasn’t sure if I was peeing still or if my water just had broke so I put on a pad and as I was doing that, more fluid came out and onto the floor. I knew then it was my waters. The crampiness started getting more regular and more intense and when it was under the 5-1-1 rule I called L&D; (around 12:30). I cleaned my house, got our bags ready and we headed out. While I was in triage they tried to send me home saying my water didn’t break but that I was at a 4cm and to come back when it did. I was like NOoOooo check again, thank god they did because it was my waters. I just had such a slow trickle that it was hard for them to figure it out. I went to the bathroom, had my bloody show, contractions got soooo super intense. At 5-6cm (around 4am) I was dying and needed an epidural. Best decision of my life even though it slowed labor a lot. By 9/10am I was a 10cm but he was still high up. He had a giant head and was stuck. I pushed for 4 hours and finally he was born at 2:27pm using the vacuum (last ditch effort before csection). I was soooo happy that I went Into labor naturally and had him as close to naturally as I could. Best day everrr!!! First baby and a 10 hour labor and 4 hours of pushing, total of 14 hr labor! 
So interested to see what happens this time around with baby number two! Luckily she is measuring smaller so hopefully her head won’t be stuck lol!
