Insertion complications?

I got my mirena put in last Wednesday. The pain was getting better but since last night it’s come back and much worse than it ever was. It’s really tender to touch and I’m all maxed out on pain meds. I spoke to a nurse and she said it could have moved.  I’m now in the ER. Any tips? Did anyone experience this before?

I actually had this same exact situation last week. I had mine inserted on Feb. 7th and by that following Tuesday, I was in extreme pain and started bleeding really heavily. I called a nurse at the hospital where I had it inserted and she said to go to the ER. They did a pelvic exam and ultrasound. The IUD was still in place, but I did end up having some newly formed hemorrhagic cysts on my ovaries (ovarian cysts filled with blood) that started basically leaking, which explained the bleeding and pain. My doc said it was nothing to worry about and just to keep an eye on it. Ibuprofen 800mg and heating pads have been my best friends for the past week! Hope you feel better soon!
