How many clothes for newborn to start ?

Hi everyone , just wondering what I need in terms of clothing to get started . I don't want to overdo it because I heard they grow so quick but I want enough that I don't run out before I do laundry :)

From my experience with my first you will normally use about 3 outfits a day. We usually had at least 1 spit up or poop accident and would have to change her outfit and then we used a gown or footed sleepers at night. Most babies aren't in newborn for long BUT I had a 5lb that grew very slow so what worked for 1 baby won't work for all.

When are you due? For a summer baby, I'm just getting a bunch of onesies since it's usually so hot here. You have to take into consideration that a baby will soil their clothing, so you may need to change them a few times a day. My little girl is measuring small at 33 weeks so I'm purchasing more newborn sized clothing since I already have a lot of 0-3 month clothes. 
How far along are you? I started purchasing clothing around 20 weeks when I found out baby's sex. I started out with 0-3 month clothing because I was afraid she was going to be a bigger baby and not fit into newborn clothing. Now that I know she's going to be on the smaller side, I'm buying her more newborn sized clothing. I currently have about 7 onesies, 2 sleep and plays, and a few outfits in newborn size. I do plan on purchasing more onesies and maybe some shorts/skirts for the summer. You would need more clothing for the winter months because baby's need more layers than adults to keep in their body heat. It also depends on how hot or cold you keep your home. 😊 I rambled on, but hopefully that helped a bit.

We have a lot of 0-3 month items for our girl. She's due July 1 so it'll be hot when she decides to come. She was estimated to weigh 5lbs 5oz at the 34 week ultrasound, since it's not 100% accurate we aren't taking it to heart too much but we didn't buy a ton of newborn onesies. I got a lot from my baby shower but I won't be buying more. Also when we found out we were having a girl we went over board shopping and didn't consider the season when we bought 6/mo size clothes, I got a bunch of summer stuff but no winter items 😐 so I'll just have to get her more weather appropriate clothes at that time lol

I'm in Arizona and I'm having a girl I got a set of five tank top onsies and ten short sleeve. And then I already had a bunch of shorts and pants from my son that I am using :) i have way too many of those though lol other then that I got a lot of size 3 months or 0-3 months since they run bigger. I am stocked through 12 months and I think my biggest amount of stuff is in size 6 months since my son stayed in that size forever
